Over the summer, the Full Court Press Communications team came together for our annual staff retreat. Our agenda was filled with engaging workshops and activities to spark creativity, enhance our expertise, and deepen our understanding of emerging trends in the communications field. Each session was designed not only to expand our professional skills but also to foster greater team cohesion. Here’s a snapshot of the retreat’s workshop highlights and the valuable takeaways each team member gained.

Workshop Highlights & Staff Takeaways:

Polling and Research with Adam Probolsky, President, Probolsky Research

Adam Probolsky’s session illuminated the evolving world of polling and research. He shared eye-opening insights into how technology is transforming how we understand target audiences. With a focus on integrating advanced research methods, we’re excited to explore new ways to utilize these tools to better serve our clients and drive social change.

Dan’s Takeaway (Founder & Principal): “The world of polling and research has transformed just like all of the communications tactics we use. Learning from noted pollster Adam Probolsky about how researchers are using all of the tools of technology to help clients understand their target audiences and what motivates them was fascinating. We look forward to finding new ways to include research to help our clients.”

Creator Economy and Digital Content with Zach Blume, Co-Founder and President, Portal A:

Zach shared his expertise in digital content creation, reflecting on his journey with Portal A. The session offered valuable insights into the evolving landscape of digital content and provided staff with a closer look at the creative processes behind some of the most engaging online media.

Faye’s Takeaway (Visual Storyteller): “I learned about the latest trends in video content creation, the fast growing creator economy, and the advantages of partnering with niche social influencers. A special thanks to Zach for sharing Portal A’s history and work, especially in highlighting the efforts, strategies, and collaboration involved in producing engaging videos.”

Web Design and SEO with Danielle Martindale, COO, Mannix Marketing:

Dani Martindale’s workshop included a comprehensive overview of the latest web design and SEO trends. She also highlighted the crucial relationship between design elements and search engine optimization. With these insights, we’re poised to create more effective digital strategies that not only appeal visually but also drive meaningful social change through enhanced online visibility.

Sarah’s Takeaway (Chief Operating Officer): “Thanks to Dani Martindale from Mannix Marketing, we got to learn about the latest trends and best practices when it comes to websites and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). She highlighted how design elements can impact SEO and offered sage advice on how to prioritize and collaborate to find the right balance between design and SEO.”

Creative Social Media Strategies with Veda Banerjee, Communications Director, Envirovoters:

Veda Banerjee shared her expertise on innovative social media strategies, including their impactful TikTok videos. Her approach to blending humor with serious messages about environmental policy was both creative and effective.

Caitlin’s Takeaway (Vice President): “I enjoyed hearing from Veda Banerjee at Envirovoters about their social media strategy. Their TikTok account is so creative and hilarious. I love how they create funny, quirky videos to drive a potent message on the real-world consequences of environmental policy. I’m excited about possibly using a similar approach for other clients.”

After the retreat, we returned to our work energized, with fresh perspectives and new strategies to serve our clients!
