Our Statement on the Overturning of Roe v. Wade

A note from Sarah Hersh-Walker, FCP’s COO, in response to the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade:

Today we are angry. Today we cry. Today we mourn the loss of reproductive rights for millions of women and child-bearing people across America. Today we stand with advocates and activists in California and around the country who are fighting for our freedom to make decisions about our bodies, futures, and families.

We are proud to call California home. We will work to ensure this state remains a place of sanctuary, where reproductive rights are available for all. We must welcome people with open arms from around the country who need reproductive healthcare services.

Today is devastating but tomorrow we will continue. Tomorrow we will fight on. For ourselves, for our children, for our freedom.

We are supporting Oakland based Access Reproductive Justice and the Women’s Foundation of California with donations today. We invite you to join us in whatever way you are able and help spread the word about these important organizations.
